The most important question when hiring a doula for me is “ Do I like her ? Did we clicked together? Does I feel comfortable with her?”

Choose someone that you love and feel connected to. This is so important.
I truly believe that some people are meant to work together and other not. This is not a ego job this is a job where you take care of human.
How many births you doula attended, how many years she has been doing that job, kids no kids. All of that for me does not matter. What matter is your feeling, start trusting yourself and decide what is right for your family.

Picking up your birthing team is the first step toward a inform consent birth.

Being a mom is the hardest and best job I ever had. I want to remember those moments for ever ❤️‍🔥

Burn out. I almost did. You know when you are tra

Burn out.
I almost did. You know when you are training as a healthcare provider or a birthworker they tend to tell you sometimes to take care of you too, but this is the hardest part of our jobs.
I almost hit the point of wanted to stop being a doula.

I “take care” of people since I am 18years old. I start with elder people then kids and now pregnant person. I love it deeply this is who I am but sometimes it’s too much.

I am learning how to say no, how to put myself first and it’s hard but if I want to do that job for a long time I need to. I know how to put my feelings aside , I have seen so many things as a pediatric CNA so I am pretty good at leaving all those emotions at work but I am still learning how to take care of my own self.

I think, one of the biggest problem in the healthcare system is that people forget that we are humans. Clients forget that we also have a family and cannot respond right away, that we are doing 10 to 38 hours of support at a birth and that we may sleep, that we are enjoying our weekends off(..) and it’s the same thing in the whole medical industry.

I almost burn out, I didn’t , I’m still struggling but I went to that amazing birth that was so empowering to watch and I remembered why I was doing this job.

Take care of you , specially those who are working in the healthcare system

I will never be tired of doing that job. Never.

Being there in such a unique moment it’s such a privilege . I will never get tired of witness the beauty & the strength of a birthing person giving birth. Never.

I love to be able to have picture of me while working because I can share them to make people understand and be aware of the job we are doing.
In France it’s still unknown. The more we share , the more people will probably understand and start asking questions and choose midwifery care and a Doula.
Being able to help pregnant person knowing their rights and fight for it it’s the most wonderful job for me.

After 6 months off in France I started back this doula job in May.
Since May 2022:
-14 births
-4 postpartum babies

This job is so unique , such a privilege to witness this moment. This video is only a little glimpse of how unique it is.
